Date: 29. August 2011 Location: Gruissan, Gulf of Lion (Mediterranean Sea), France. Species: Thresher shark ( Alopias vulpinus ). Size: 4.30 metres in length, 185 kg (407.855 lb). The catch was made 12 km offshore by the boat “l’Armissanot”. It took the angler about 5 hours to reel in the shark. Source and Photo: lindependant.fr

Size: 94.5 kg ( 208 lb 5.38 oz ) The angler caught this specimen about 100 nm out in the North Sea. It’s a potential new Danish record. ( current record: 47 kg caught in 2009 ). Shark Year Magazine, 18 August 2011. Fifteen-year-old Ethan Lynch may have broken a state record by catching a huge blue shark (Prionace glauca) off Newburyport in Essex County, Massachusetts. The impressive catch measured 12 foot long and weighed 458 pounds. The Massachusetts state’s current record-holder was 454 pounds and caught in 1996. Ethan was on

BRETT Sinclair broke a world record when he hooked this massive 260.8kg tiger shark during a game fishing competition near Port Hedland in WA’s north. Amazingly, he caught it on just 6kg fishing line, which is usually used to catch snapper and salmon. He beat the
