20th annual Mako Mania Shark Tournament
Location: Bahia Marina, Ocean City, Maryland, USA.
Date: 03. to 05. June 2016
A total of 270 anglers and 58 boats participated in the event this year.
During the fishing competition which lasted for three days, 21 mako sharks and 4 thresher sharks were brought to the scale at the Bahia Marina in Ocean City (see table). More details on most of the reported weigh-ins are listed below.
The total prize money was $103,240. Almost half of that money was given to the crew of Jade II for landing the largest mako shark which weighed in at 220.8 lbs. But the heaviest fish of the tournament was a 455 lbs thresher shark which was caught by Jeff Green while fishing on the ‘ Strip Teaser’.
