Megamouth shark landed in Owase, Japan

This megamouth shark ( Megachasma pelagios ) was caught in a fishing net about 5 km offshore from the port of Owase, located in Mie Prefecture, Japan. The shark reportedly measured 5 metres long and 1 ton in weight. Another interesting footage of the specimen ( uploaded on 17. April 2016 ) can be viewed on YouTube here.
