14 ft Hammerhead shark caught in Brazil – Jan 2015

According to local news sources, this 4,30 metres long great hammerhead shark (Sphyrna mokarran) was caught in a gillnet about 2 km off the coast near Tamandaré, located over 100 km south of Recife in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. The catch occurred on 28. January 2015 and Folha-PE is reporting that this is the third catch of a hammerhead shark at Tamandaré within a month ( Source ).
