Results of the 2014 BTB Mako Rodeo

13th Annual Brett T. Bailey Mako Rodeo

Location: Hoffman’s Marina West, Brielle, New Jersey, USA.
Date: 13. – 14. June 2014 ( one fishing day )

A total of 59 boats took part in the 13th Annual BTB Mako Rodeo. The Brett T. Bailey Foundation paid out over $35,000 in prize money.

According to the organizer, there were hundreds of sharks (mostly Blue sharks) released throughout the day. Only a handful of Makos and one Thresher shark were brought to the scale ( see below ). The winning Mako weighed in at 243.5 lbs and was boated by angler Billy Renpro and the crew of the ‘Hard to Catch’. Captain Darren Volker aboard the ‘Mary Lou Crew’ landed the only Thresher shark (163 lbs) of the BTB Rodeo.
