Brothers answer two mayday calls near Point Conception.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Oct 03, 2014- Kayakers used the distress mayday calll to get help twice on Friday near Point Conception. Lou and Charles Christman had been fishing for sea bass when they heard the first call about 60 miles north of the Santa Barbara Harbor where they put their boat named Elizabeth Ann in the water. They found one kayak fisherman clinging to a kayak damaged by a great white shark.  They rescued the kayaker and two of this friends.

This incident is one of three shark attacks that occurred in two days along California shores north of Santa Barbara:

– On Thursday, three beaches along the Vandenberg Air Force Base were closed through the weekend after a 28-year-old surfer was attacked ( see related notice here ) .

– On Friday, two kayak fishers were attacked in separate incidents.
