Basking shark landed in Chile

The news-video was uploaded by ‘Girovisual Television’ on 30. October 2013. This basking shark ( Cethorinus maximus ) was caught in the morning of the same day off the coast of El Quisco, located on Chile’s central coast. The specimen measured about 5 metres in length with an estimated weight of 700 kg ( other sources: approx. 8 metres long ).
