World Record Silvertip Shark caught in East Africa

Location: Latham Island, Tanzania.

Species: Silvertip shark (Carcharhinus albimarginatus).

Weight: 186.20 kg ( 410 lbs 7 oz ).

In last November, Andrea Pellegrini caught a record-sized silvertip shark
(Carcharhinus albimarginatus) while fishing aboard the „Boomerang“ near
Latham Island, which is located about 45 nautical miles off Dar es Salaam
in the east African country of Tanzania.
A short time ago, this catch has been officially confirmed as a new All-Tackle
World Record for the species by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
