Whale Shark found dead in Philippines

Location: Calabanga, Province of Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Species: Whale shark ( Rhincodon typus ).

Size: reported to be 4.6 metres long, 1.2 metres wide.

The dead specimen (female) washed ashore in Barangay Sabang, Calabanga town.

According to the source, the shark may have died after it collided with a vessel.

Local authorities decided to immediately bury the carcass.
