The 16th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties
Proposal to Include Oceanic Whitetip Shark in CITES Appendix II

The United States of America has co-sponsored a Colombian proposal with Brazil for consideration at the 16th Meeting of the CITES Conference of the Parties (CoP16) to include the oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) in Appendix II of CITES. Adoption of this proposal requires a two-thirds majority of CITES Parties present and voting at CoP16.
