Two Recent Shark Records from Norway

Specimen No. 1
Date: reported by source on 10. January 2012,
but already caught on  05. January 2012.
Location: Træna, Nordland County, Norway.
Species:  Porbeagle shark (Lamna nasus).
Size:       99 kg in weight.

Specimen No. 2
Date: reported on 14. January 2012.
Location: Hitra, Sør-Trøndelag County, Norway.
Species: Bluntnose sixgill shark (Hexanchus griseus).
Size: ‘barely one metre long’ (other source: ca. 70 cm ).
The newborn specimen was caught in a fishing net off the
northeastern coast of Ulvøya  (ca. 150 metres deep).
According to the source, the fisherman just took a photo
and threw the shark back into the water.
