Location: Kaipara Harbor, New Zealand.

Species: Hammerhead shark (Sphyrna spp.)

Size: 4 lbs 6 oz in weight, 61 cm in length.

The catch was made by the same angler (bait: mullet). Judging from the photo,
it’s most likely a young smooth hammerhead shark (Sphyrna zygaena).
It represents a potential new IGFA record in the women’s 03 kg (6 lb) line-class category.
