Ban likely on shark fin trade in New York

Shark fins considered a major delicacy in New York’s Chinatown and easily available and served in many of the restaurants as shark Fin Soup. But starting from next year, it might not be so. But now New York legislators have introduced a bill that would ban the trade and possession of shark fins, possibly as early as 2013. At the Po Wing Hong Food Market in Chinatown, the shark fin sale is thriving. Buyers can take their pick from a variety of shark fins on display.
