Whale Shark caught in Indonesia

Date: 25. October 2011

Location: Kenjeran Beach, Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia.

Species: Whale Shark ( Rhincodon typus ).

Size: reported to be 8 metres in length.

The shark was caught in a fisherman’s net in Madura strait.

  1. This is an incredible even caught on film. We went on a swim with whale sharks with http://www.swimwithwhalesharks.com when we visited Cancun and Playa del Carmen. All I know is after our experience swimming and learning about the importance of conservation, if more isn’t done to protect the whale sharks, they can easily join the list of endangered species.
