Whale Shark caught in China

Date: 21. September 2011.

Location: Port of Shipu, Xiangshan Peninsula, Zhejiang Province, China.

Species: Whale shark ( Rhincodon typus ).

Size: reported to be 11 metres in length and weighing 6 tons.

The shark was found entangled in a fishing net about 100 sea miles away from Shipu.

It was sold to a merchant from Wenzhou City.
