Sixgill Shark caught in the Azores Islands

A bluntnose sixgill shark (Hexanchus griseus) was caught in the waters of Graciosa Island recently.

This Portuguese island is the northernmost of the Central Group (Grupo Central) of islands in the Azores.

The capture was made by the two brothers Fernando and Lázaro Lima Pires da Silva on 06 July 2011.
