Sixgill Shark caught in Italy

Date: 03. September 2011.

Location: Marina di Campo, Elba Island, Italy.

Species: Bluntnose sixgill shark ( Hexanchus griseus ).

Size: over three metres in length.

According to the source, the female shark had eleven swordfish in its stomach.

The fishermen caught another shark (male) on the same day,

but it was released alive.
