Shark Fins in the Marshall Islands

Shark fins from tuna bycatch and atoll reef sharks (coming from neighboring islands on Mili and Arno, for example) have long been exported from this facility in downtown Majuro, in the Marshall Islands. A bill to outlaw all shark fishing in the RMI passed yesterday! (Oct 2). Enforcement will remain a challenge. Please encourage similar laws to ban shark finning! A hi-def version will follow…
