Shark bites surfboard in Reunion Island

On July 6 at 3 pm, 15-years oldĀ  Arnaud was attacked by a shark while he was surfing

off the beach at Roches Noires in Saint Gilles.

Miraculously, the young surfer escaped almost uninjured with some minor scratches

on his nose and ankle.

The shark bit a big chunk out of the surfboard and broke it into two pieces.

It’s the third shark incident in the waters of Reunion Island this year.

The latest fatal shark incident occurred on June 15, 2011.
