Russian shark attack victim receives treatment in Germany
Helmut Nickel, Shark Year Magazine, 19. October 2011The Primorsky Territory Administration continues to support Denis Udovenko who lost both arms below the elbow in a shark attack on August 17. He also suffered an injury to his leg.
The shark attack survivor will soon receive funds from the regional budget for further medical treatment in one of the best clinics in Germany.
In the German city of Essen, the young man will get prostheses to replace his lost hands. Pauline Udovenko will accompany her husband on the trip.
In about six months, Denis will need to return to Germany for fitting the prosthetic hands.
He had already undergone two operations in a Korean hospital last August and September.
