Huge Thresher Shark caught in Florida

On July 24, a group of recreational fishermen landed a huge thresher shark off the coast of Dania Beach in Broward County, Florida.

The 650-pounds shark measured 13 feet, 6 inches long and was caught in about 350 feet of water.

This specimen represents a potential new Florida State Record. The current record is a 544 lb 8 oz thresher shark that was caught in Destin about 27 years ago ( 15 Sept. 1984 ).
