Fisherman lands big Shark off Donegal Ireland

According to the ‘Donegal Daily’ (July 27), a big porbeagle shark Lamna nasus was caught off the coast of Fanad Head in Donegal County, Ireland last Sunday (July 24).

The angler Don McCLoskey was fishing on the Swilly Explore when he hooked the estimated 300-pounds porbeagle. It took almost an hour and a half to land it.

The skipper of the boat Niall Doherty of Rathmullan CHarters reveled it took four men to bring the shark on board.

The female porbeagle was tagged and released back into the water.
