Whale Shark captured in Korea

Date: reported on 30. August 2011.

Location: Donghae, Gangwon Province, South Korea.

Species: Whale shark ( Rhincodon typus ).

Size: 5.3 metres in length, estimated 2 tons.

The fisherman found the shark dead in his fishing net

and immediately informed the coast guard.
