Russian fishermen reportedly caught an adult Great white shark ( Carcharodon carcharias ) off the coast of Sakhalin which is an island in the North Pacific Ocean. Embedded below is a video showing the landing of the specimen. The footage was uploaded on Youtube on 31. August 2014.

Fourteen boats gathered in Yarmouth to compete in the 2014 Shark Scramble. The participating anglers brought several sharks with a total weight of 8,430 lbs ( or 3,824 kg ) to the scale, over 5,300 lbs less than in the preceding year when 5 more boats had entered the tourney.
