Results of the 2019 Yarmouth Shark Scramble

Date: 14th to 17th of August 2019
Location: Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

According to the organizer, a field of 116 anglers on 15 vessels participated in the annual Yarmouth Shark Scramble last week.

The fishing vessels departed on August 14th and returned to the dock on August 17th to off-load and register their catch.

The landed catch consisted of 45 blue sharks with a total weight of 10,724 lbs (ca. 4864 kg).

    It is shocking to me, in this day and age, how irresponsible and cruel these people are. Sharks are disappearing from our oceans faster than they can recover and you foolish foolish people go out and slaughter more. Recreational fishermen murder over 250,000 a year. It is stupid, cruel…and yes, did I mention STUPID! Honestly…what in the hell is wrong with you people???
