Four metre Great white shark caught in Tunisia

A Great white shark ( Carcharodon carcharias ) was caught off the coast of Mahdia, the capital of Mahdia Governorate in Tunisia. Other sources are reporting that the catch occurred off Salakta beach on 19. October 2013. The specimen measured about 4 metres in length and 1.5 tons in weight. It was sold for 3.500 dinars (over 2.100 US-Dollars). In late 2012, another great white shark was killed by Tunisian fishermen in the waters off Sousse.     So very sad! We have been assigned as custodians to look after this earth and we are giving back NOTHING at all.

    We need more countries like Malta to protect the white shark in the med, are there any other countries in the med that do? So many different nations on one area of sea it’s hard for the sharks here and these fisherman show no remorse , europe needs to act fast before it’s too late
